Room Update & The Sweetest Thing!!

We got the floors & baseboards in today. All that is left is to find new furniture and put in finishing touches. Like curtains, lamps, frames, etc.

Today, a friend and I were talking about some stuff and seeing we were going through some of the same things. We were talking about how we were so stressed out and sometimes it feels like God forgets us. Which we KNOW this isn't true, but the thoughts are there all the same.

Well, we get off the phone and I'm sitting in the living room with my husband and youngest daughter. There is a knock at the door and our little next door neighbor walks in. Ivan asked him what he had in his hand.

Well, he held it out to me and in his hand was a flower. A gardenia to be exact! He brought it just for me. This little guy has never showed any interest in me at all. He comes and plays with the kids, I make chit-chat and he usually leaves without saying bye!!

I went put it in a glass and he comes in the kitchen and we had the following conversation:

Him: that's a real flower, ya know.

Me: yes, I know.. its a gardenia. Its my favorite kind of flower.

Him: we have a garden with all kinds of flowers. Red ones and all kinds.

Me: we I love my flower. thank you soooo much. its beautiful.

.. and he walks out the kitchen and doesn't say another word until I ask him if he is eating with us. Of course he says yes.. we had spaghetti!

I don't believe it was by chance that he brought me a gardenia. Especially since I would have thought bringing me a flower would be the last thing on a 6 year old's mind.

Almost like God was saying.. I see you and know where you are.. I even know your favorite flower!

Since God is mindful of the small things (a flower from the neighbor) then He'll be mindful about the big things.

And.. just because I couldn't resist...

He is doing well. He walks without a leash and is so obedient!
